University of Isfahan shines in 11 Subject Areas in the Times Ranking 2025

In the reputable global Times Ranking of 2025, Iranian universities have made a remarkable presence with a significant growth of 11% compared to last year. Among these, the University of Isfahan has demonstrated notable performance in eleven different subject areas, enhancing its academic standing on an international level.

The latest global ranking of universities by Times for the year 2025 has shown a significant representation of Iranian universities. In this period, 81 universities from Iran participated, showing an 11% increase from the previous year.

The Times ranking system, regarded as one of the most prestigious university evaluation frameworks internationally, has a significant history. It started in 2004 in collaboration between Times and QS and continued its work with Thomson Reuters since 2010. An important turning point occurred in 2016 when this system decided to end its collaboration with Thomson Reuters and started working with the Scopus database. This change in the data source significantly impacted how universities are ranked.

In this ranking system, information is collected from three main sources: data provided by the universities themselves, survey results, and information obtained from Elsevier. Evaluations are based on five key criteria: education, research, international outlook, research quality, and industry involvement.

In the 2025 ranking, the University of Isfahan was assessed in eleven subject areas, which included Arts and Humanities, Business and Economics, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Psychology, Social Sciences, Law, and Medical Sciences. The notable performance of our university across various fields demonstrates its ongoing and successful efforts towards improving educational and research quality.
